If you have experienced an issue that you cannot get your Ninja blender to work you should pull out your owner manual.
While it may seem unnecessary to use your manual to use something as simple as a blender, however, the Ninja is not like every other blender.
Take a look at the step by step instruction in the manual and you will likely find out that you have something out of place.
The pitcher was not locked in to the correct position
Since a blender is a high-speed small appliance and the blades located inside the pitcher are extremely dangerous, safety is paramount.
To this end, manufacturers like Ninja have devised safeguards in order to ensure that the pitcher stays in place during operation.
As part of this safety system, they will normally include some type of safety interlock into the base unit.
By having an interlock built-in you have to have the pitcher locked into the correct position or it will not turn on.
To be sure that you have the pitcher locked in place you should consult your owner manual that came with your Ninja blender. If you have misplaced your user manual, you can find the user guide online. Click here.
Inside the owner manual, you should find a section that describes the proper way to use the blender.
This will usually also include pictures to ensure that you are doing it correctly.
After looking at the manual and correcting the problem you should now be able to turn the blender on now.
For a replacement pitcher or lid, look up your model number and order easily on Amazon. Click here.

The lid of the pitcher was not locked tightly in place
The Ninja blender also includes a lid for the pitcher that allows you to put ingredients through it and into the pitcher.
This can lead to possible harm or make a mess if the lid is not on properly and you were to turn the blender on.
This is primarily why the lid of the Ninja blender also has an interlocking system built-in.
If the internal circuitry detects that the lid interlock is not completely set it will cause a flashing light indication on the operator panel of the blender.
If you see this flashing light and are not sure what it is, pull out your owner manual and it will explain what the flashing LED light indicator means.
The owner manual has a visual description of what the lid should look like when you have it in the right position.
The arrows on the lid and pitcher should line up.
If it still does not work, there could be a misalignment will explain that as soon as you correct the issue with the lid interlock you will be able to push the start button and it will start working again
The blades are not turning properly – ninja blender not working
The blades that are located at the bottom on the pitcher are the key to the proper operation of the Ninja blender.
It is the specially designed blades that make it such a powerful blender. However, if you notice that your drink in not as smooth as it should be.
It is possible that the blades may not be turning properly.
If you suspect that might be the problem it could be caused by a jam inside the base unit.
Inside the base unit is a rubber connector that helps to couple the removable pitcher to rotating part inside the base that is connected to the motor.
The repair this you will need to unplug the based unit from the electrical outlet.
After you did that using a screwdriver you remove the screws hold the bottom cover and access the inside.
Gain access to the internal drive assembly and see if there might be some debris that is blocking the shaft from turning.
Once you are able to get the shaft turning properly, you can put everything back together and test it.
The power light on the blender is not lit
While this may seem like a simple problem to figure out, however, it can be more complex.
If you try to use your Ninja blender and there is no power indicator light on you should always check the obvious thing first, is it plugged in?
If the answer is yes, then you need to do a little more investigating.
Check the electrical breaker that feeds the kitchen outlets.
If the breaker was not off or tripped, then you should check the outlet with a multimeter to ensure that the outlet is working.
Once you have found out that it is likely that the problem is inside the blender.
You need to open the bottom cover and gain access to the inside of the blender.
The first thing you want to check is the fuse to see if it is blown.
A blown fuse will prevent the electric current from flowing into the blender via the power cord when it is plugged into the outlet.
Using a multimeter you can easily check the condition of the fuse.
If it is bad, you can get a replacement from a number of places or you can go online to the manufacturer’s website to get one.
Once you replace the fuse, close the cover and put the screws back in and test.
I received the Ninja as a birthday gift on December 3rd now January 14th – it’s not working at all!
It’s the worst blender I’ve ever had don’t waste your money!

I’ve probably used this blenter less than half a dozen times
Any suggestions?
I get the panel on my ninja blender to light up but when I press any operation (blend, pulse, etc) the machine shuts itself off. I can hear a slight hum just before it shuts off like the motor is trying to turn. The spindle on the base that turns the blender blade moves freely
Robert, I have the same blender with the same symptoms. I found a film capacitor on the circuit board to be defective, replaced it and still have the same problem. If I find a solution I will post it here. Hope you do the same.
Most of the complaints as with mine people have barely used the blender. Shame Ninja does so much advertising and sell such a poor product. I am elderly and can not fix something that is barely used. It is quite pricey for acouple of uses. Wish I would have read these reviews before purchased the piece of junk.
The worst blender I ever owned. I can’t get it to turn on hardly at all. I maybe used it 20 times and every time it is a pain. My old $20 blender worked better. Never again will I buy a Ninja product !
I agree!!! Worst blender ever. Felt like I got scammed. Best of luck on your blending journey!
Omg the same. And I just cut my damn finger trying to fix it :/
On the individual setting, the power button lites up but after pressing the single serve button, the power shuts off and will not work. I tried switching to a different setting but the results were the same for all settings.
My Ninja blender is slow and showing :6 on the screen. What are my next steps?
Can you show where the fuse is in a Ninja auto IQ 100?
This is the second ninja product I’ve had. Coffee make stopped working within a year and now the blender won’t work. Just got it for Christmas. Tried making a frozen coffee this morning and couldn’t. This makes me mad. I have had it that long and have used it maybe 6 times.
The release button on the lid to the blender wont work so we cannot put the handle down to lock lid in place.
My ninja IQ blender cups won’t stay locked in place to blend.. keep shutting off. And noticed the lip on the cups that lock in are rough not smooth. How can I fix this ?
My single served attachment is not working. The light won’t turn on. Please help. Im not ready to purchased a new set when the rest is still working. Thank you.
The grating disc is stuck on spindle, how can I remove it
made a smoothie now can not get the cup off base. brand new only used twice
Same here, keep getting lid and jar error messages when everything is secure. Regret buying this. Miss my old Oster that lasted trouble free for over 30 years…..Had it maybe a year?
Have that same Oster nostalgia!!! The good old fashioned hardy mechanical device that never ever let me down. I gave it away when I thought I was moving …. and that of would be easily replaceable. I’ve had two new model Osters die on me and now this Ninja nonsense.
When I lock in the bowl component of my blender, I mean the one to use with the disc graters, the light does not come on.
Please help. Thanks
it requires some troubleshooting, cause you might take apart blender and check continuity of the microswitch, to see why its not engaging
The knob control has stopped turning on my Ninja Chef.
Same here, very frustrating!
Our blender will not work and the light does not go on when the pitcher is locked into place after aligning it to the arrows. If we slightly cant it out of the locked position, the light will go on and we can only pulse it on any one of the numerous settings, but we cannot get it to stay on blend.
It require some troubleshooting, but without taking it apart and check the lock switch, you probably will have this issue again and again
I have been having the same issue. After ninja sending a new base and the same thing happening, I started looking for issues myself. The issue is that the bowl is not latching with the base. Once again ninja is now sending a replacement bowl. You would think that so many people having this issue that ninja would do a recall and correct the issue.
