Samsung Washing Machine Error Codes nF, 4C, 4E, 1 4C

Water not filling up the washer.

There are two common things that could happen.

One of them is faulty water inlet valve, second is water tap being OFF.

You need to remove the top cover on the washer and check water inlet valves for continuity with a multimeter.

Don’t forget to unplug the machine.

If you will get ZERO continuity that means the valve is defective.

Water level sensor failure or water hose connected to the sensor being detached from the drum because of vibration or water hose clogged with some gunk and sensor unable to measure how much water left in the drum.

You need to detached hose from the sensor and just blow into the hose to make sure its not clogged.

If its all ok, then you just need to replace a sensor with a new one.

If water filling up by a little even with the machine being OFF, thats mean inlet valve not keeping water pressure and not fully closed. Just replace the inlet valve.

The next thing to check is the water level sensor.

Just make sure that hose connected to the sensor properly attached and not being detached from the sensor and from the drum at the bottom.

Samsung Washing Machine Error Codes SUd, 5UD, Sd, 5d, SUdS, 5Ud5Excessive suds in the machine.

This error showing up during the spin cycle, when machine unable to distribute load inside the drum.

So, if you will hear banging noise during spin or machine unable to complete spin cycle, you will get those error codes.

On top load washing machine, you need to check suspension with 4 metal rods to make sure, rods attached to the frame and not being broken.

On the front load washing machine, issue can be with shock absorbers or suspension spring which holds the weight of the drum.

  1. Hi, I have a Samsung front load washer (WF435ATGJRA) that won’t lock the door. Initially, the door wouldn’t unlock at the end of the cycle. I opened it manually by removing the top. I replaced the latch but it didn’t solve the problem. When I start a cycle, there’s nothing else happening than littles clics in the electronic control board, no pumping, locking or anything else. What would be my next step from here?

      • The door striker is fine. Yes I changed the door lock, the part inside the machine (they call it door lock latch).

      • Well, it should work. If its clicking, trying to lock, meaning wires (another possible cause) to the lock are ok. Does the door closing ok? Get a new door lock and install it.

  2. My washer will power on initially when I hit the power button, but the user interface display will only stay on for about five seconds and then I will hear a click and the unit turns off by itself. When I try the power button again the next few times, it will not power up (I hear it click then click off again instantly), then eventually after hitting the power button enough times, it will click on and the user interface display will light up for a few brief seconds again, before powering off again by itself. Even after it powers itself off, the green lights on the Main and Inverter PCBs continue to flash.

I checked and have 120V going to the filter and out of the filter. 120V goes to the Main PCB and Inverter PCB, and both of these have blinking green lights on them. I also checked the power coming out of the Main PCB to the front user interface PCB and have the correct 5V and 12V to ground.

Would you expect this to be an issue with the Main PCB, User Interface PCB, or anything else?

I’ve looked at all circuit boards and don’t see any visible burns, damages, or loose connections. I’ve also tested all the capacitors on the Main PCB and user interface PCB – all tested fine. Wiring harness appears to test fine with a continuity test as well.

    • I would disassemble user interface panel and check continuity of the START button (its a tiny microswitch on the board). It should engage contacts only when you press it. If its engaging contacts by itself, its a failed button. If it’s not a button, then i would blame user interface board

  3. Hi. My Samsung front loading washing machine with model code WW80J6600AW does not spin at all. When I enter diagnostic mode and rund either “Test” or “Spin”, I get the error 3C2. I have checked the pump and housing, and it is clean and working. Belt between the motor and the drum is tight and all good. I`m bringing a multimeter home today from work, to ohm the windings on the motor. I allso read that it could be problems with the “hall sensor”, but where is that sensor located on the inverter motor? Any idea of what component I can check or replace next? Have a good one.

    • The last time when i had to deal with this issue, i ended up replacing the motor and hall sensor (on some models it comes as a whole piece) and it didn’t fix the problem. After that, there was not reasonable to get it fixed. Too costly. But, I recommend you to check wires to the motor and sensor from the control board. Also, clean sensor and motor connections on the board side.

  4. Hi Eugene,
Our 2011 Samsung front load has started walking. I’ve lowered the legs as far as they’ll go and the washer is spot on level, both fwd. and aft and lt. and right. As I was researching new dampeners for the machine, I came across a tech manual that described a “quick check” which I administered. The display flashes both “P3” and “02” alternatively. I haven’t been able to locate any definition of these two codes.
Any ideas? This is starting to snowball…

    • I dont know what is that code means, but its definitely not an error code. Could you send me a link for that manual?

  5. My top loading Samsung washer has a bc error code. It will start a cycle, show the error code and drain and then start another cycle. It is continuous. It will keep doing this until I power it off.

  6. Hey , I have a front load Samsung washer . How do you know if the springs and shock support need replacement?

  7. My Samsung front load is giving the code 3C2 and DDC/DC. I’ve unplugged, plugged back in. Turned the breaker off and on. Nothing fixes it. (We had power outages from hurricanes) what it does is start the wash cycle, it goes for 3 minutes and stops, On every setting/cycle. I’ve replaced the hall sensor, but I’m not sure if it was a faulty sensor or not.

    • 3C3 error code refers to the motor being stuck. I would test wires from the motor and hall sensor to the control board with a multimeter. Reset every connector if needed. And if it will not help, replace motor control board

  8. My model wa50m7450aw samsung top loading washing machine is not spinning. I replaced the clutch assembly and it still is giving me the same error code PC….any suggestions?

  9. Got a Samsung top loader. Model WA52J8700AW/A2.

    Water collecting in drain pan.
Water supply Hoses don’t appear to be leaking. Internal hoses seem to be ok.

Test mode displays a JC 16. Can’t find any reference to this code.

    • Found the issue. Drain pump hose had a small crack/slit in it about 2 feet from pump. I think the JC 16 might be the software version and not error code.

  10. Hi I have a Samsung WA80G5 top loading washing machine, when I switch it on and leave it it comes up with the error 1E, something starts making a noise and stops. If I go to program a cycle it will turn aonce or twice to assess the weight, it goes into 1E and the same procedure follows as when it is just switched on

    • 1E or IE related to the water pressure sensor. 1. water is not filling up due to water inlet valve 2. black hose what attached to the sensor is dirty 3. pressure sensor itself failed.

  11. Hello I have a compact washer dryer combo, with error 5c. I’ve cheacked everything and it’s all fine. But still showing the same problem code. The washing machine isn’t even a year old.

    • Most common issues are: drain filter clogged or drain pump failed. Even if drain pump seems like working but not pumping water out, it just failed, replace it

  12. I own Samsung Top Load washer. It has issue draining the water. It give error code SC OR 5C. Can you please help me .Please please help me. I own model number: WA50R5400AW/US

    • Hi Zohaib, you need to check drain pump to make sure its working. You can reach drain pump on top loading machine from the back

  13. My Samsung front loader wf45k6500aw/a2 is not draining.
I cleaned out the filter, pulled out the pumps and checked them by plugging them into wall, checked the drain hose, checked the drain pipe of the house. Everything check out fine. The machine has an error code 5C.
    What could the problem be?
Is possible that something is wrong with the door switch?

    • Hi Jule, no, it should not be related with door switch. If you check everything and its still not draining. I think the drain pump itself needs replacement. Here is a drain pump for your model

  14. My washer have a Samsung VTR error code 900 & it will not stay on long once u turn on power.
