Error Code F01 or F02: Water/Heating NTC or Leads Short-Circuited

After this fault is registered, the heating will not be activated and rinse aid will not be dispensed. Cause: NTC temperature sensor R30 or its connection leads short-circuited or open-circuited. How to Fix It:

  1. Check the temperature sensor and its leads for continuity. At 68°F (20°C),
    the temperature sensor resistance should be approximately 14.9k
    (± 750); at 77°F (25°C), approximately 12k (± 600) (guide figures only).
  2. Check the plug connections.
  3. Replace the temperature sensor, if necessary.

Miele F11 Error: Drainage Issues

Symptom: Water present in an appliance and is not being drained off.
Background information: After each drain pump step, the circulation pump operates for 2 seconds and heater pressure switch B1/13 checks the water level. If it is too high (large quantity of residual water remaining in the cabinet), the drainage time is extended. Symptom: During the first 5 seconds of any water intake step, at least 15 pulses from flow meter B3/4 should be registered. If this given number of pulses is not detected, the display reads Water inlet fault and/or the “Intake/Drain” LED flashes (depending on model). The water inlet valve will be activated at 10-second intervals for one hour. The drain pump will also be activated at intervals to prevent the possibility of the appliance overflowing. All other components remain inactive. If these attempts to achieve the minimum pulse rate fail, the buzzer is activated for 2 minutes.

  • On-site shutoff valve (water supply) closed
  • On-site water supply not in order (water pressure below 14.5 pounds per square inch)

  • Flow meter B3/4 is not providing any pulses
  1. Remove the left side panel.
  2. Check that the circuit board with reed switch on flow meter B3/4 is seated
    correctly.
  3. Check that the reed switch connection plug is seated correctly.
  4. Replace the reed switch, if necessary.
  5. Check the flow meter for pulses.
    a. While the appliance is in operation and no pulses are delivered, take a
    magnet and pass it over the reed switch. If a pulse is then delivered,
    replace the water diverter. If no pulse, replace the reed switch.
    b. While the appliance is in operation and pulses are delivered,
    reconnect the electrical connector to the electronic board, clear the fault and operate the appliance. If an F12 is still displayed, replace the electronic board.
  6. Check the control lead from the electronic to flow meter B3/4.
  7. Replace the water diverter, if necessary.

Error Code F13: Water Intake Fault at End of Step

Symptom: The program is interrupted and the drain pump is operated. After approximately 2 to 4 minutes, the buzzer is activated for 2 minutes.

Background information: This fault is registered when the desired number of pulses, which varies depending on the program, has not been detected within a certain given time (maximum 4 minutes).
If the selected program starts with a water softener flushing cycle, the fault code register check is carried out earlier. In the event of a fault, the selected program is interrupted after approximately 30 seconds and the fault is indicated.

Error Code F14: Water Intake Fault: Heater Pressure Switch

Symptom: The program is interrupted and the drain pump is operated. See Table for model-specific fault indications.

Background information: With the circulation pump operating after a water
intake step, the heater pressure switch is checked to ensure that sufficient
water pressure exists in the wash water circuit. For this the heater relay must
have been activated.

  • During a heating step the heater pressure switch may have registered no or insufficient water pressure at the circulation pump.
  • Heater pressure switch B1/13 defective or blocked by foreign objects.
  • Circulation pump inoperative. Circulation pressure too low (no pressure at heater pressure switch). Pump may be blocked by foreign objects.
  • Flow meter B3/4 defective (incorrect water quantity registered).
  • Circulation pump winding overheated; winding protection has cut out.
  • After a water intake step, heater pressure switch B1/13 has not opened switching steps 11–12 and 21–22. This causes the anti-stiction routine to be started.

Error Code F15: Water Intake Fault – Hot Water

Intake temperature of the hot-water connection is too cold (below 100°F).

Error Code F18: Flow Meter Stationary State Monitor B3/4

The water inlet valve is open when it should not be (a signal to open it has not been given by the electronic). Water then flows into the appliance and unexpected pulses from the flow meter are detected. Unexpected pulses from the flow meter are also detected when the water inlet valve is not activated.

Error Code F24: Heater Relay Contact

  • Heater relay contacts have fused together
  • Moisture in heater relay
  • Fault in the plug on the output side of the heater relay. Contamination or corrosion on the plug of the heater wiring harness can cause a bridge between contacts, which can reduce the transfer resistance below a value of 10 megaohms

Error Code F25: Target Temperature Fault

During the heating stage, the desired temperature has not been reached within the given time (minimum 75 minutes). In subsequent wash blocks, after this fault has been registered, the heater is not activated and no rinse aid is dispensed.

  • Heater relay defective.
  • Excess quantity of detergent or rinse aid dispensed. Excess foam has developed. Excess foam can cause a drop in water flow pressure, directly affecting the Heater pressure switch.

Error Code F26: Boiling Protection

  • Temperature at NTC temperature sensor has exceeded 194°F (90°C).
  • NTC temperature sensor providing inaccurate information

Error Code F32/F33: Door Lock Does Not Close

Hi Eugene i am in the uk and have a Miele G4920 Dishwasher, it stopped a working or so week ago and came up with a F24 fault code which is a heater relay , i have changed the relay but it is still coming up with the same fault code. do i need to clear the fault code and if so how do i clear it.

  3. Hi Eugene, I have a G1143 (Australian model) which sometimes trips the circuit breaker (similar to misha) other times, the program stops part way with all lights flashing. Service mode gives 1 diagnostic code F14. I pulled out the circulation pump removed a small plastic debris but did not look like enough to block the flow. The heating element does not appear to have earth leakage to ground, and its 25 ohms between the contacts. I think my multi-meter measures resistance up to 20 mega ohms. I did not notice any water leaks.

    I put it back together and still same symptoms. Any other ideas?

    FYI: I managed to enter service mode using the instructions “For Miele Dishwasher Inspira and Diamante – G 2120/G 214x/G 2150” above. The pre-wash LED flashes to indicate that its in fault code mode and Wash/Rinse LED flashing out the fault numbers.

    • I am not sure if you will be able to reset it permanently, but you can turn power OFF to the dishwasher for a couple of minutes and then turn ON.

  5. I have a Miele G 4263 SCVi. The door on the washing liquid box has stopped opening. I’ve checked the spring and cleaned it so it’s not that. I have no error/fault code.
    Any suggestions?

    • You need to take the front panel off and check the resistance of the wax motor (brown color) for the dispenser box. If it shows infinite resistance, than it is faulty

  6. thank you Eugene, sorry didnt see your response earlier. what I did was , i thought it was the drain pump ordered a new one, tested the resistance on new pump and it was same as old pump, so I put the old pump back, however i did replace the non return value while i was at and did a quick wash, the dish washer didnt trip.
    as for testing the resistance heating element i will try to see where the heating element is, you wouldnt have a pic of it would you, also as for the dishwasher breaker, the dish washer is not on its own circuit, other appliances on the circuits are fine, so i am not sure if the breaker is the culprit.

    • i don’t think that a non-return valve can affect somehow a dishwasher, so it is not related. Just wondering if your dishwasher plugged in the CFGI receptacle?

    have you got any information on miele G2220 model.? currently it is tripping the circuit breaker, I think it is the drain pump, but not sure how to get to it.? it starts and does the washes 30min in, then it trips. i think this is when it starts to drain and because the drain pump is faulty it is tripping no error codes or anything, do you have any infor on G2220 , how to enter error code mode etc..

    • I can not tell you, how exactly enter a diagnostic mode for your model.
      First thing, you need to check the resistance of the heating element to the ground. If the heating element is ok, replace a dishwasher breaker.
